In the heart of Jönköping, next to lake Munksjön, the new development of Ekblad real estate company can be found – project Asken. Asken is one of three parts of Atollen, Jönköping’s new addition to the city. Atollen is a vibrant and dynamic area surrounded by shops, restaurants and offices. Kährs Oak Granite was chosen for over 50 apartments.

HOTEL ZUR POST

A feel-good hotel with a personal character is the ideal place for those who value both traditional hospitality and active holidays. With this maxim, the four-star hotel “Zur Post” Ruhpolding welcomes its fifth generation guests – and all this in the midst of the Chiemgau Alps. After a lengthy reconstruction and renovation period since 2012, the Rechl family now presents 28 rooms and 20 suites in a contemporary alpine style. The bridge between tradition and modernity succeeds with a furnishing mix of old and new materials and 500 m² of the natural oiled wood flooring planks Oak Straw from Kährs Artisan Collection.

CONCERT HALL AARHUS

The music hall in Aarhus was originally designed by Kjaer & Richter and was inaugurated in 1982. The newly added Symphonic Hall was built especially for symphonic music, so the hall’s internal dimensions were dictated by acoustic considerations. The hall has a Nordic colour scheme, with grey acoustic panels, black seats and a light Ash Kalmar floor from Kährs. In contrast, red adorns the rear walls and when the acoustical panels are adjusted, the same red colour is also used as a background.

PHO RESTAURANT

Pho is a Vietnamese street food eatery at Birmingham Grand Central. Pho occupies a prime site within the new premier shopping destination, located above the city’s newly renovated New Street Station. Kährs design-treated wood floor Oak Sparuto complements Pho’s raw, urban design and eclectic mix of materials – from steel to bamboo.

AUTOHAUS 2.0

A new concept to an automotive showroom has landed in Ballindamn, Hamburg. The new showroom features leading technology coupled with traditional comforts to create a new shopping experience. Touch screen displays with configurator tools and personal consultation staff complete the interactive package of this showroom, whilst a centered bar and lounge area outfitted in Kährs Oak Sture adds traditional comfort to ease the mind from technological advances.

THE MEAT CO. STEAKHOUSE

The Meat Co has re-defined the meat lovers’ dining experience in Dubai. The international chain has selected 1-strip Oak Trollaborg by Kährs Craftsman Collection for their Dubai and Abu Dhabi restaurants; and Oak Earth by Kährs Artisan Collection for their Bahrain and Kuwait restaurants.

Many original features, including its robust wooden shelves, still survive today.
