The Hanseatic metropolis has a lot to offer: the Elbphilharmonie, the Speicherstadt, the harbour with its jetties and lots of water. “Water” is also the dominating design theme in Scandic Hamburg Emporio, which opened in 2012. The Hamburg house of Swedish origin was established in 2017. The newly built 7th and 8th floors perfectly reflect the prevailing pattern of water. The veneer flooring Oak Tide from Kährs Linnea Lodge Collection is an excellent framework for a furnishing concept that combines art with sustainability.

CHATEAU DES TOURELLES

The Thalassotherapy and Wellness Hotel, Château des Tourelles, is the perfect combination of pleasure and wellbeing. For over 25 years and across two generations, the Phélippeau family has practiced sea-wellness and made thalassotherapy an art of wellbeing based on the ancient properties of the sea to improve health and to relax the mind. For the floor of their restaurant, they chose Oak Concrete from Kährs Artisan Collection.

The University of Pavia is one of the oldest educational establishments in Europe. A large hall, later known as the Theresian hall, was allocated for the University’s library. Many original features, including its robust wooden shelves, still survive today. EDINBURGH MARINA RETIREMENT DEVELOPMENT

Kährs whitewashed Oak Linen wood flooring design has been chosen for Edinburgh Marina’s Royal Wharf retirement development show apartment, in the Old Gunpowder Store. Previously used in the 19th century as a gunpowder warehouse, the building has since been magnificently restored into a luxury show apartment with a contemporary interior style.

BARRA BARN AT BARRA CASTLE

UNION LOFTS

Built in 1922, Union Lofts originally served as the company headquarters of the Union Bank of California. In its heyday the building boasted all the opulence and grandeur of the age. Skilled Italian craftsmen created the richly ornate hand-painted and carved ceilings, and no expense was spared on the marble used for the stairways and basement vault. Today, every effort has been made to preserve the historical elements of the building. Oak Malibu, with its dark stain and an air of old-fashioned glamour, fits well with the developer’s ambition to combine the vintage setting with modern living.
