Phase one of the project has already been completed, and the open-concept residences have been fitted with premium interior details and a selection of hardwood flooring from Kährs, including Hard Maple Alberta and Walnut Vermont.

RESTAURANT SAIKO

In spring 2011, Pontus Johansson, without a doubt Sweden’s foremost sushi chef with, among other awards, a second place at the international Sushi Awards to his name, opened a new restaurant at Sankt Knuts Torg in Malmö. Saiko is Japanese for ’innovation’, something that has always been an important element in Pontus’ cooking. By uniting authentic food culture from Skåne with traditional Japanese sushi customs, he has succeeded in creating something that is innovative, but without altering the original technique. The menu includes both sushi and hot dishes and the tastefully decorated restaurant has space for both small and large groups of people. The floor, on which the guests both walk and sit, consists of Kährs’ Oak Charlemagne boards. It is a dark, nature oiled 1-strip board with bevelled edges, which creates a solid base for the stylistically pure furnishings.

VILLA VALLMO

Villa Vallmo (meaning Villa Poppy) is a new property model that has been designed for JB Villan by Swedish architect Thomas Sandell. The house is inspired by traditional Swedish farmhouse barns but is very modern, comfortable and equipped to the highest standard. The first version of Villa Vallmo has been built in Bråbacka Tibro, beautifully situated overlooking the lake Örlen. Kährs Oak Creme has been installed throughout the property.

LUSH

Kährs hardwood flooring Oak Sevede has been installed at the Liverpool Lush store in various areas including the spa and office sections. The Liverpool flagship store, which is the world’s biggest Lush store, is a destination with Lush products, a spa section, hair salon, perfume library and a florist all in the premises. Lush is well known for their work with environmental concerns and strong ethical practices. “Our beliefs and ethics are at the centre of everything we do and, as such, it is important that our suppliers have the right credentials and fit with these beliefs. We have chosen Kährs to supply our spa flooring and we are really happy with the result that we have been able to achieve with this collaboration”, said Rosie Goodbourn, Materials Researcher for Lush.

THE BARCODE BEDROOM

A designer renovated bedroom in the ‘Kinotavr 2013’ (famous cinematography Award in Russia) prize winner’s apartment. The inviting feel of the bedroom has been achieved by use of stone, wood and glass across various areas. Walnut Cocoa wood floor boards have been installed across the floor as well as the ceiling, to create a warm and intimate interior. The stoned section has been designed to bring elegance & the barcode mirror introduces illusion and modern design.
