Queen Silvia’s Hospital for Children and Youth, a part of Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg, is the biggest children hospital in Sweden. The Harjuniitty School is an elementary school with Grades 1-9. Located on the west side of Nokia, Finland, the school is in the embrace of the scenic ridge. Upofloor’s Quartz tiles have been used for a school building. The serene-looking floor is in balance with the colourful school premises. Upofloor Zero Sound flooring has been installed in the classrooms and hallways at the new premises of Byleskolan, focusing on creating a serene atmosphere to promote students’ learning and to reduce stress, headaches and sleep disorders. The new psychiatric building consists of three buildings and has a common area of a total of 25,350 m2. Research and proven experience have formed the basis for architecture, color choice and interior design. The philosophy is based on the fact that the architectural design can support patients’ healing, both physically and mentally.
